Accessibility Statement for
Cancer Journey Foundation

The Cancer Journey Foundation (CJF) is deeply committed to ensuring digital accessibility for
everyone, including cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities. We
are constantly striving to improve the user experience for all visitors and to apply the relevant
accessibility standards to make our resources as inclusive as possible.

Our Commitment

We recognize that navigating a cancer diagnosis is incredibly disorienting, and digital barriers
should never stand in the way of finding support. Whether our users are dealing with cognitive
fatigue, changes in vision, or physical neuropathy from treatment, we aim to ensure our website
is fully perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

Conformance Standard

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and
developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of
conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Cancer Journey Foundation website aims to conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Measures We Take to Support Accessibility

To ensure a highly accessible experience, the Cancer Journey Foundation integrates the
following practices:

  • Color Contrast: We design our pages with high contrast ratios so text is easily readable against background colors.

  • Keyboard Navigation: We work to ensure that all menus, links, and form fields can be fully navigated using only a keyboard.

  • Alternative Text: We aim to provide descriptive alternative (alt) text for all meaningful images.

  • Clear Layouts: We prioritize simple, consistent, and predictable layouts to ease cognitive load.

Known Limitations

While we strive for complete accessibility across our entire website, we utilize some third-party

integrations (such as external map features, video players, or donation portals) that we do not

fully control. We actively monitor these tools and work with our vendors to encourage accessible
updates.
